This five-day programme introduces children to the key skills, concepts, and behaviours required for early success at the 7+ and 8+ entry points. Designed for pupils beginning their preparation journey, the course builds strong foundations while developing confidence and familiarity with exam-style tasks.
Who It’s For
7+ Group: Current Year 1 pupils
8+ Group: Current Year 2 pupils
Two parallel groups run throughout the week, each taught by experienced teachers with deep insight into selective school expectations. Pupils change teachers halfway through each day for balance, variety and broader expertise.
What the Course Includes
English: Composition, comprehension, grammar, dictation
Mathematics: Mental maths, formal methods, problem-solving
Reasoning: Verbal and non-verbal reasoning techniques
Introduction to exam technique
Strategies for staying calm, focused and organised
A teaching assistant supports both groups, providing individual attention and ensuring pupils feel confident and cared for throughout the day.
Environment & Class Size
Small class sizes ensure tailored feedback and close support. Chelsea Academy provides state-of-the-art, bright classrooms, outdoor space, and an ideal setting for a productive, enjoyable week.
